The N7, only 100km from Cape Town, or a 30 km trip from Riebeek West along a rollercoaster road flanked by farms, the R311, will bring you to Moorreesburg, centre of the region’s wheat industry. Here, the Wheat Industry Museum is a must for any history lover. Housed in the old Dutch Reformed Mission Church building, it depicts the history of wheat from early Egyptian times to the modern day.

Mountain-biking and hiking trails abound, with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountainscapes, and activities on guest farms include fishing, swimming canoeing, 4X4 trails, clay-pigeon and wing shooting. For golf enthusiasts, the town has a 9-hole course.
