West Coast Flower Update 4 October 2017 << go back

posted on 05 October 2017

The West Coast Flowers season presented beautiful flowers and new hope with every bloom. If you visited the Weskus during flower season we hope you enjoyed your stay, made friends with locals and are planning your next trip.

The West Coast is suffering a severe drought, and three regions have been declared as natural disaster areas. This meant that our flower season took a bit of a setback and towns such as Clanwilliam, Doringbaai, and the Hardeveld region didn’t have as many flowers as previous years. The Weskus peninsula showed more promise and during this time, had some spectacular flower hot spots.

We want to encourage you to visit other attractions within the West Coast. The newly launched places you must visit include Pixi Garden in Jacobsbaai and Truitjieskraal in the Cederberg. Other exciting things to do is the Wine and Olive route in the Swartland, Porterville Produce Route and Namaqua West Coast MTB trails.
