West Coast Flower Update 12 September 2017 << go back

posted on 12 September 2017

If you still hoping to get a glimpse of the West Coast flower season. We advise you to make your way to the West Coast sooner rather than later. Your first stop should be at the annual Darling Wildflower Show, they are celebrating their 100th anniversary from 14th-17th September 2017.
The flowers are fairly spread out around the West Coast peninsula. Prominent hot spots include; Darling, Yzerfontein, West Coast National Park, Elandsbay, and Lambertsbay. The flowers in the northern parts of the West Coast referring to; Clanwilliam, Citrusdal, Vredendal and surrounds took a set back because of the severe drought we’re suffering.
Nonetheless, there are still exciting activities to do in the northern parts of the West Coast.  The Cederberg area is astonishing and has some of the best rock climbing sites in the world. It is a place where you can discover the footprints of the indigenous West Coast people. Cape Nature is having an open week from the 18th-25th September. If you visiting the Cederberg area visit Matjiesrivier for an absolute breath taking adventure.
