Flower Update 11 August 2017 << go back

posted on 11 August 2017

Winter is halfway through and the rain is still scarce. However, the West Coast can never be dull! We are celebrating flowers in Darling and Yzerfontein this week. The perfect opportunity to see Renosterveld, Rietveld, Sandveld, and Strandveld. There are about 1200 different species among these vegetation types.

With the 100th Darling Wildflower Show happening from 14-17 September the flowers in Darling and Yzerfontein just arrived in time. The Darling Wildflower Show is not to be missed; craft market, kids entertainment, food and beverages stalls coupled with a live music arena are at the order of the day.
Today is a good day! The rain is pouring outside, hopefully stimulating the Weskus flowers. The northern parts of the West Coast still flower shy. Therefore, we sadly need to inform you that the annual Clanwilliam Wildflower Show has been canceled.

Stay connected, we’ll let you know what blooms where and when after this rainy weekend.
