West Coast Tourism Presents Story Week << go back

posted on 02 February 2015

Do your stories leave your friends staring at you with jaws hanging in disbelief or rolling on the floor with laughter! Wanna become a famous storyteller?

West Coast Tourism is looking for the region’s best storytellers for our first ever Story Night – to be held in the first week of March 2015.

Stories can be both personal and fictional - stories that speak of the place – the West Coast and our towns.

Tell us about;

  • Haunted houses
  • amazing fish tales,
  • legends and tradition
  • local characters
  • Khoi and San culture or anything that you feel captures the essence of the West Coast

All languages are welcome and Storytellers must be willing to tell their story if at the local Story Night.

Contact your local tourism offices to find out how you can become the West Coast’s favourite story teller!

Interesting stories will be awarded prizes and a chance to tell their story on radio!

Tourism story week will take place in the following regions:

  • Darling, Vredenburg & Velddrifft
  • Clanwilliam in the Old Jail Museum
  • Van Rhynsdorp
