REDELINGHUYS

Approximately 200km in a North Westerly direction from Cape Town, lies the almost-forgotten village of Redelinghuys, in the heart of the potato farming community. Redelinghuys has established itself as the potato capitol of the SANDVELD REGION, as they produce the best of the best.
The village's beauty lies in the surrounding rocky hillside, with its almost magical forms and shapes and the well-known VERLORENVLEI.
VERLORENVLEI (RAMSAR protected) is one of the largest wetlands on the West Coast and flows into the Atlantic Ocean at Elands Bay. It is renowned for its abundant birdlife, rarity of unique fynbos species and untouched nature. During the flower season (July - Sep) the vicinity is covered with a colourful patchwork of flowers, including the popular Sandveld Lily aka Red Lily and attracts many hikers and nature lovers.
Visitors can experience a face-to-face encounter with rock paintings and the resettling of indigenous wild life, e.g. Oribi, Springbuck, Gemsbuck, Eland, etc.
